Business development opportunities were presented to entrepreneurs in the northern districts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region
The Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation, together with the administration of the Semyonovsky municipal district, held a roundtable discussion focused on boosting investment activity in the region’s northern municipalities. The event brought together over 40 entrepreneurs and government representatives from nine districts – the Borsky, Gorodetsky, Sokolsky, Koverninsky, Semyonovsky, Voskresensky, Krasnobakovsky, Varnavinsky, and Vetluzhsky districts – whose businesses operate in industry, agriculture, tourism, and the service sector.
Representatives of the Development Corporation outlined the “one-stop shop” support for investment projects, the agency’s services, digital tools available to businesses, available sites, and the region’s investment infrastructure. They also presented standard investment proposals.
Currently, the Development Corporation is supporting 62 investment projects in the participating municipalities, spanning tourism, industry, agriculture, logistics, and services. The total investment volume for these projects amounts to 8.2 billion rubles, with plans to create more than 1,200 jobs.
“The main goal of such roundtables is to help businesses. During these events, we do not just present our capabilities to entrepreneurs – we also work with local authorities to address pressing issues directly on the ground. The Development Corporation is always open to dialogue, and a strong team of our territorial managers will assist in implementing projects of any scale, even in the most remote municipalities far from the regional center,” said Igor Ishchenko, Director General of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation.

Participants were also informed about current support measures for small and medium‑sized businesses. In addition, Guan Lei, Chairman of the Branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs of Russia in the Volga Federal District, spoke about cooperation practices with companies from China across various sectors.
At the end of the event, representatives of the Development Corporation, the Regional Industrial Development Fund, and the Innovation and Consulting Centre for the Agro‑Industrial Complex held one‑on‑one consultations for entrepreneurs planning or already implementing investment projects. The discussions covered selecting appropriate support measures and submitting applications for them, preparing urban planning and permitting documentation, and coordinating with utility providers.
Negotiations were also held with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs of Russia in the Volga Federal District regarding the potential implementation of joint projects in the Semyonovsky district.
“Such meetings help strengthen business ties, generate new ideas, and ultimately boost the economy of the Semyonovsky district. The B2B direct talks that concluded our meeting have already laid the groundwork for future partnerships. We will continue working to enhance the investment attractiveness of our territory,” noted Dmitry Poluektov, Head of the Semyonovsky municipal district.
For reference, the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation was established on the initiative of Governor Gleb Nikitin. The organization facilitates the implementation of projects at all stages – from providing information about the region and possible support measures, inspecting investment sites, to commissioning the facility – while assuming obligations for interaction with executive authorities, local self‑government bodies, natural monopoly entities, and other organizations.
