More than 150 students took part in the SEZ “Kulibin” Day at the Dzerzhinsk Technical College

The management company of special economic zone “Kulibin” (SEZ “Kulibin”) – the Development Corporation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region – together with residents and the Dzerzhinsk Technical College, held the SEZ “Kulibin” Day aimed at introducing students to the opportunities for practical training, employment and professional development at resident enterprises. More than 150 students enrolled in technical programs participated in the event.

Representatives of the Development Corporation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region briefed the students on the main areas of activity of the site, opportunities for internships and work placements at resident enterprises and their staffing needs.

In addition, students were able to sign up for investment-themed tours of SEZ “Kulibin”. To date, the Development Corporation, in collaboration with residents, has developed routes covering the production sites of LLC “RusSilika”, “Syntez OKA” Group of Companies, “Felix TS” and “RT-KGB”.

“Currently, the staffing needs of 56 SEZ residents exceed 7 thousand people. It is impossible to find such a number of potential employees without engaging with educational institutions. Events of this kind allow students to familiarize themselves with real production facilities and available development opportunities, while enabling employers to attract interested young specialists,” said Roman Zolotov, Head of the Directorate for the Development of Human Resources and Educational Capacity for Investment Projects at the Development Corporation.

Companies operating at the SEZ site – “Aksis”, “RT-KGB” and “Plastmatica” – also presented their enterprises and current job vacancies.

To conclude the event, a quiz dedicated to SEZ “Kulibin” was organized for the students. The winners received branded merchandise from the Development Corporation and SEZ residents.

It should be noted that the Development Corporation has developed a comprehensive personnel program for SEZ residents. It includes an analysis of company needs, a system of engagement with educational institutions: the development of new and revision of existing educational programs, the organization of student internships and work placements at resident companies, targeted training programs and the implementation of career guidance projects. The program has been added to the federal service for identifying best practices across various sectors to address socio-economic challenges “Smarteka”, developed by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI). As part of its implementation, since the beginning of 2026, the Development Corporation has arranged internships at SEZ resident enterprises for more than 50 students.

For reference, the industrial special economic zone “Kulibin” was established in May 2020 on the territory of the Dzerzhinsk urban district. Today, the Dzerzhinsk part of the “Kulibin” SEZ covers an area of 724 hectares and includes the state site, as well as private sites operated by DPO “Plastic”, “Oka Polymer”, “Sintez OKA”. The private sites are already equipped with infrastructure. In November 2025, the Russian Government issued a resolution to expand the SEZ territory by another 117,7 hectares, incorporating a site in the city of Bor. The total area of the “Kulibin” SEZ now amounts to 841,7 hectares.
