Construction of gas separation equipment production facility began at the state site of the “Kulibin” SEZ
The investor has commenced construction of a pressure vessel and gas separation equipment production facility at the state site of the “Kulibin” special economic zone (SEZ) in Dzerzhinsk. The project is being implemented by ZEGRO LLC. It was previously approved by the Expert Council for SEZ Development.
“The “Kulibin” SEZ is already one of the most attractive investment territories in the Nizhny Novgorod Region and continues to develop actively. This year, the first plant was opened at the state site in Dzerzhinsk, and construction of another major enterprise producing pipeline systems has also commenced. Despite the challenging economic environment, investors continue to invest in the region and create new enterprises,” emphasized Egor Polyakov, Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The plant will produce receivers for compressed air and inert gases, nitrogen generators, and modular compressor stations. The products are used at industrial facilities to regulate pressure in compressed air, nitrogen, and gas supply systems.
Total investment in the project exceeds 360 million rubles, with 39 jobs to be created.
“The company plans to build a production facility with a total area of approximately 2,500 square meters. Currently, following the construction of the monolithic foundation and waterproofing, backfilling of the excavation pit is underway at the construction site. Upon completion of construction, the production volume will amount to approximately 1,550 tons of products per year,” noted Dmitry Kuzmichev, Director of the company.
The management company of the “Kulibin” SEZ is the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation.
“Currently, 56 companies hold resident status in the SEZ, investing over 160 billion rubles in the creation of production facilities. 12 enterprises are already engaged in production activities, while a number of companies are in the construction cycle or preparing to enter the site. As the management company of a preferential territory, we provide residents with the necessary support and create the infrastructure required for comfortable operations at the site,” said Igor Ishchenko, Director General of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation.
For reference, the industrial special economic zone “Kulibin” was established in May 2020 on the territory of the Dzerzhinsk urban district. Today, the Dzerzhinsk part of the “Kulibin” SEZ covers an area of 724 hectares and includes the state site (416 ha), as well as private sites operated by DPO “Plastic”, “Oka Polymer”, and “Sintez OKA”. The private sites are already equipped with infrastructure. In November 2025, the Russian Government issued a resolution to expand the SEZ territory by another 117,7 hectares, incorporating a site in the city of Bor. The total area of the “Kulibin” SEZ now amounts to 841,7 hectares.
