The Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation joined the Memorandum of Cooperation among development agencies of the EAEU countries
The Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation has joined the Memorandum of Cooperation among development agencies of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states. The signing ceremony took place within the general meeting of members of the National Association of Investment and Development Agencies (NAAIR) during the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The Memorandum aims to enhance the effectiveness of activities in implementing state policy in the field of investment attraction as well as to promote the development of the investment and business climate in the EAEU member states. So far, more than 15 development institutions from Russia, Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus have joined it.
“The main task of development agencies is to create conditions for the most comfortable business environment possible. The agreement will enable the exchange of best practices at the international level. I am confident that cooperation with EAEU countries will take the development of investor support infrastructure to a new level,” emphasized Egor Polyakov, Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
“We are already actively cooperating with a number of Russian regions and preferential territories of the Republic of Belarus. Joining the Memorandum will expand our pool of partners. The Development Corporation is always open to dialogue with colleagues, as interregional and especially international cooperation helps improve practices in working with investors,” said Igor Ishchenko, Director General of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation.
The cooperation involves exchanging successful practices in working with investors, developing and improving mechanisms and tools for attracting investment and organizing and conducting joint events.
“It is fundamentally important for us to provide Association members with broad opportunities for interaction both with colleagues from different regions and with national investment agencies of EAEU member states. Such cooperation will open new prospects and help strengthen the EAEU’s image as an investment‑attractive macroregion,” noted Rafael Khusyainshin, Executive Director and Deputy Chairman of the Board of NAAIR.
For reference, the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is being held on June 3-6, 2026. SPIEF has been held annually since 1997, and since 2006 – under the patronage and with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Over the years, the forum has become a leading global platform for dialogue among business representatives and for discussing key economic issues facing Russia, emerging markets and the world at large.
