Expert Council approved three projects worth 27 billion rubles for SEZ “Kulibin”
The Expert Council for the Development of the special economic zone (SEZ) “Kulibin”, located in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, supported applications from Meryl Innovations LLC, Vaer-Volga LLC, and one petrochemical company for obtaining SEZ resident status. The meeting was chaired by Andrey Sanosyan, Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
“To date, the SEZ Expert Council has approved 45 projects with a total investment volume of approximately 144 billion rubles. Investor interest in the territory is high; we have almost completely filled the state site and see interest in the industrial production buildings currently under construction. The projects approved today not only have significant investment volumes but also imply the creation of high-productivity jobs, which is extremely important for the region’s economy”, he said.
Meryl Innovations LLC plans to organize the production of knee and hip implants used for treating musculoskeletal system diseases within the SEZ. The project’s investment volume amounts to 1.3 billion rubles, with plans to create 113 jobs.
Vaer-Volga LLC intends to build a plant for the production of ventilation and refrigeration equipment: industrial fans, fire and smoke dampers, and central air conditioners. The investor plans to invest more than 450 million rubles in the project, creating 55 jobs.
A major petrochemical company plans to invest 25.3 billion rubles in the implementation of the investment project and create 447 jobs.
The management company of SEZ “Kulibin” is the Development Corporation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
“SEZ “Kulibin” is becoming increasingly popular among investors operating in various fields. The projects approved today meet the needs of several markets – from medicine to industrial construction. The Development Corporation will provide them with necessary support for successful launch”, noted Igor Ishchenko, Director General of the Development Corporation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
