Ice pouring started at the main arena of the Ice Palace on Strelka
The contractor has begun pouring ice at the main arena of the Ice Palace on Strelka in Nizhny Novgorod. The ice area at the main site will be 1,560 sq. m.
Finishing work is actively underway at the construction site, installation of facade panels, utility equipment and elevators, and construction of internal partitions are ongoing. Installation of internal and internal utility networks is nearing completion. Landscaping is underway in the adjacent area.
“The future home site for our hockey team Torpedo is gradually taking shape. Currently, a massive amount of work is being carried out at the arena’s main playing area. In particular, the builders have begun pouring ice, and have also completed work on installing spectator seats and the arena’s sideboard system. At the moment, more than two thousand people are working at the site, and 62 units of equipment are involved,” said Igor Ishchenko, Director General of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation.
Let us recall that the Ice Palace will consist of the main arena with stands with a capacity of 12 thousand people and two training grounds, each of which is designed for 250 spectators. The complex also includes a multi-purpose sports hall and an acrobatics hall. Construction is being carried out within the framework of a concession agreement between the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and Ice Palace LLC (a subsidiary of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation).
