Round table on tourism development in the northern districts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region brought together 30 entrepreneurs

The Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation held a round table in Vetluga on the topic of “Development of tourism activities in the north of the Nizhny Novgorod Region”. The event brought together more than 30 entrepreneurs and representatives of local governments from seven municipalities: Vetluzhsky, Tonshaevsky, Varnavinsky, Urensky, Tonkinsky, Sharangsky, Voskresensky municipal districts.

This is the second round table dedicated to the development of tourism in the northern districts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Since the beginning of the year, representatives of the Development Corporation have held seven meetings with entrepreneurs in the districts, which were attended by about 200 entrepreneurs from 17 municipalities of the region.

The participants of the event were presented with information on measures of state support for projects in the field of tourism, available sites for placing tourist facilities, digital services for business and an algorithm for supporting investment projects on the “one-stop shop” principle.

Special attention was paid to investment proposals – projects with calculated parameters that require minimal preparatory work on the part of a potential investor. At the moment, the Development Corporation has developed three such solutions in the field of tourism: creation of a tourist complex with a glamping hotel, roadside service facilities, and adaptation of cultural heritage sites for hotels.

In total, more than 100 sites are available to investors in the northern districts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, of which about 30 are suitable for placing tourist facilities.

Also, as part of the round table, the participants discussed potential growth points in the northern municipalities of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, such as the development of agrotourism and ecotourism, the promotion of local brands. It was also proposed to create inter-district tourist routes.

“The north of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has significant tourism potential, and we see the interest of local businesses in its development. During the round table, entrepreneurs spoke about the projects planned for implementation, discussed current issues and potential cooperation, and shared proposals for the development of the tourism sector. For our part, we are ready to provide businesses with all the necessary support in creating new tourist facilities,” said Anton Garanin, Deputy Director General for Strategy and Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation.
