A new geotextile production line began operations in Volodarsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Region
The third geotextile production line was launched in the working settlement of Ilyinogorsk, Volodarsky District, by "GeoSM", a manufacturer of geosynthetic materials. The investment project is being supported by the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation.Geotextile is a high-tech synthetic fiber material used in construction for soil reinforcement, drainage, erosion control, and protection of waterproofing layers.
As part of its support, the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation provided the investor with general advisory assistance and helped prepare analytical materials upon request.
"With our support, the company is implementing its fifth major project – previous lines for geomembrane and geogrid production have already been launched. The total investment in creating the enterprise amounts to about one billion rubles," said Anton Garanin, Deputy General Director of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation.
Investments in the third geotextile production line totaled 210 million rubles, creating 20 additional jobs at the enterprise.
According to Viktor Parekko, Director of "GeoSM", the new line represents another step toward sustainable development of the construction industry.
"The new production line will have the capacity to manufacture up to 4,380 tons of products annually, enough to lay more than 4,000 kilometers of road surface," he noted.
Since 2025, "Boosting Investment Activity" has been one of the federal projects of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy". The project aims to create transparent business conditions, distribute risks between the state and investors, and provide systemic support measures to increase the share of investments in gross regional product.
The Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation was established on the initiative of Governor Gleb Nikitin. The organization facilitates project implementation at all stages – from providing information about the region, potential support measures, and site inspections to commissioning, while undertaking obligations to coordinate with executive authorities, local governments, natural monopolies, and other organizations.
