Finishing works at the Ice Palace in Nizhny Novgorod are now over 30% complete
Currently, interior finishing is actively underway at the facility. Contractors are laying tiles and porcelain stoneware, painting walls and partitions, and pouring self-leveling floors.
Additionally, construction teams continue installing facade panels, assembling the base for the ice field on the main arena, and installing elevators. Work on internal utility networks and on-site engineering systems is nearing completion.
“Work is now in full swing to prepare the base for the ice field on the main arena. Specifically, the installation of the thermal technological slab is complete, and the hydro- and thermal insulation layers are being finalized. The arena’s foundation consists of a thermal slab, hydro- and thermal insulation layers, and a cooling technological slab. Over 1,000 workers and 38 pieces of machinery are currently deployed at the site,” said Igor Ishchenko, Director General of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation.
Let us recall that the Ice Palace will include the main arena with seating for 12,000 spectators, two training arenas with capacity for 250 spectators each, and a multipurpose sports hall and acrobatics hall. The project is being implemented under a concession agreement between the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and Ice Palace LLC (a subsidiary of JSC Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation).
