Round table on tourism development in the northern districts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region brought together 30 entrepreneurs
The Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation held a round table in Vetluga on the topic of “Development of tourism activities in the north of the Nizhny Novgorod Region”. The event brought together more than 30 entrepreneurs and representatives of local governments from seven municipalities: Vetluzhsky, Tonshaevsky, Varnavinsky, Urensky, Tonkinsky, Sharangsky, Voskresensky municipal districts.
This is the second round table dedicated to the development of tourism in the northern districts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Since the beginning of the year, representatives of the Development Corporation have held seven meetings with entrepreneurs in the districts, which were attended by about 200 entrepreneurs from 17 municipalities of the region.

The Presidium of the Nizhny Novgorod Investment Committee approved a priority investment project worth 12.3 billion rubles
The Presidium of the Council for Development Strategy and Investments under the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region approved the assignment of the priority investment project status for the construction of a warehouse complex in Nizhny Novgorod. NinoGrad LLC (part of the Central Properties group of companies) will be provided with state support in the form of property tax breaks.
The declared investment volume in the project is 12.3 billion rubles. The planned commissioning date is by the end of 2025.
“It is expected that the warehouse complex will become the largest in the Nizhny Novgorod Region and will create about three thousand jobs. The project meets our objectives to increase warehouse space in the region,” emphasized Egor Polyakov, Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

Nizhny Novgorod Region's GRP grew by 2.5% in the first quarter of 2025
The gross regional product (GRP) of the Nizhny Novgorod Region increased by 2.5% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
"As we predicted, manufacturing and high-tech industries remain this year's key growth drivers. Both our national and regional economies continue expanding despite sanctions and tight monetary policies," emphasized Egor Polyakov, Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The largest economy growth contributors was the manufacturing industry (+6.8% in comparable prices, accounts for around 27% of GRP), including the following sectors: fabricated metal products – +25.3% (10.4% of the manufacturing industry), computer production – +37% (7.8%), petroleum products – +24.3% (4%).
Additionally, moderate growth was indicated in the IT sector (+15.8%), R&D (+8.3%) and transportation (+4.8%).

Nizhny Novgorod Region presented promising joint projects across industry, agriculture, IT and other sectors to the Chinese delegation
On April 22-23, the Nizhny Novgorod Region became a platform for discussing new international initiatives, hosting a delegation from the China-Russia Trade, Economic and Investment Chamber of Heilongjiang Province, along with a vice-rector of Heilongjiang University. The business mission focused on developing cooperation in industry, engineering, agriculture, IT, pharmaceuticals, and education.

Universal investment proposal for the creation of roadside service facilities was developed in the Nizhny Novgorod Region
The Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation developed its fifth universal investment proposal – a project for the creation of roadside service facilities.
These proposals represent projects with pre-calculated parameters that require minimal preparatory work from potential investors. This allows for rapid project implementation and significantly reduces payback periods.
The project may include the following facilities: fuel station (including connection to an existing station), vehicle service center with car wash, parking area, hotel with children's recreation area and cafe, medical post, retail store, etc. The project can be configured according to investor requirements. The minimum investment volume starts from 162.5 million rubles depending on configuration, with implementation period from nine months.

The Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation conducted a survey among investors to assess their satisfaction with its services during the first quarter of 2025.
The survey results showed a satisfaction score of 4.98 out of 5 points. In the first quarter of 2024, this indicator stood at 4.96 points.
Investors evaluated the Corporation's performance across eight criteria: information about existing support measures, assistance in liaising with regional and local authorities, support in selecting project implementation sites, “one-stop shop” investor services, help in engaging with financial institutions, competence level of Corporation staff, assistance in securing infrastructure access, support in coordinating with utility providers.

Anton Garanin, Deputy Director General for Strategy and Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation, presented the region's investment potential during the specialized session “Russia – Regional Investment Forum” at the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) held in Abu Dhabi from April 7 to 9.

Territorial Managers of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation commenced support for 32 investment projects in the first quarter of 2025
In the first quarter of 2025, territorial managers of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation began supporting 32 new investment projects with a total investment volume exceeding 13 billion rubles. Upon completion, these projects are expected to create approximately 1,300 jobs across industries including manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, and others.
Enhancing investor support and service quality has become one of the key objectives of the national project “Efficient and Competitive Economy”, initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2025.
With the assistance of territorial managers, 11 investment projects worth 910 million rubles were implemented in the region’s municipalities, generating 277 new jobs. These projects span tourism, industry, agribusiness, and trade. Andrey Sanosyan, Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Igor Ishchenko, General Director of the Regional Development Corporation, and Mikhail Klinkov, Head of Dzerzhinsk, assessed the progress of engineering infrastructure construction at the state-owned site of the “Kulibin” special economic zone (SEZ).
"Large-scale construction work at the state site began exactly one year ago, and significant progress has been made on this major project during this time. Today we inspected the construction of roads and industrial buildings, as well as the installation of utility and telecommunication networks. First three-section "MiNiN" tram began trial runs on Nizhny Novgorod's routes 6 and 7
On April 1, 2025, the first three-section T856 "MiNiN" tram began operational testing on routes 6 and 7 in Nizhny Novgorod, as reported by LLC "Ecological Projects."
The trial runs are required under tramcar certification procedures and commenced after passing a technical safety inspection. Testing is being conducted on the city's most heavily used routes, where these trams are planned to operate regularly. All certification activities are carried out under the supervision and methodologies approved by the Urban Electric Transport Research Institute.
The tram is undergoing several days of testing without passengers to evaluate all operational characteristics, verify system readiness, and ensure infrastructure compatibility, including clearance compliance. Notably, the tram has a capacity of over 260 passengers, with 61 seated spaces.
